The month of July begins with little cloudy skies and rising maximum temperatures

The weather this first weekend of July will be sunny and with rising temperatures in most of Spain, so that on Sunday it will once again reach 40 degrees in the Guadiana and Guadalquivir valleys, while precipitation will appear above all in mountainous areas of the north of the peninsula.

"This weekend will be marked by stable weather, in general, with slightly cloudy skies in the morning and clouds that will begin to grow from midday and that could give rise to scattered thunderstorms, more likely in mountain areas," according to Rubén del Campo, spokesman for the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

Temperatures will rise this Saturday and Sunday after the heat truce that will take place this Friday, when the thermometers will mark lower values than in previous days. "There will be a rise in temperatures, which will move at values more or less typical for this time of year, perhaps a little lower than normal in the north and a little higher in the south," said Del Campo.

In the Guadiana and Guadalquivir valleys it will be around 38 to 40 degrees in the early afternoon, while the thermometers will mark between 24 and 27 degrees in the Cantabrian communities.

On the other hand, the weather for next week -the first full week of July- will hardly vary until Thursday and a "typically summer" environment will prevail, according to Del Campo.

There will be cloudy skies in the Cantabrian Sea, where some light rains are not ruled out, while the sun will shine in the rest of the peninsula and the Balearic Islands.

The temperatures will be high and will be within the normal values for the season or perhaps a little higher in the center and south of the peninsula. The thermometers will reflect 22 to 27 degrees in the Cantabrian communities, 28 to 32 on the shores of the Mediterranean, 30 to 34 in the northeast of the peninsula, 32 to 36 in the central area, 34 to 38 in large areas of the southern half and 38 to 40 at points in the Guadiana and Guadalquivir valleys, which will be the warmest areas.

The precipitations will not be very abundant during the first days of next week, although there is the possibility that clouds of diurnal evolution will form, which will leave scattered stormy showers in the interior of the peninsula, more likely in the east and that could be strong locally. especially in mountainous areas and their surroundings.

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) announces for this Saturday, July 1, in the Community of Madrid slightly cloudy or clear skies, with some evolutionary cloudiness in the central hours of the day, minimum temperatures with slight changes and increasing maximums.

Thermometers will drop below 20 degrees Celsius (ºC) at night and during the day the maximum will reach or exceed 30. The winds will be light from the north and northeast. Yesterday, Friday, the weather offered a bit of a truce as temperatures dropped throughout the Spanish geography, which has allowed us to sleep a little better, in the face of the heat wave of recent days.
