The Mossos d'Esquadra are investigating the circumstances of the death of a 66-year-old man in Besalú (Girona) who was found yesterday in a town house tied with straps and surrounded by sex toys, although the first hypotheses point to an "accidental death" from suffocation.
As El Punt Avui has advanced, the man's body was found naked on the roof of the house by a municipal security guard and a neighbor, after the son of the deceased alerted the city council that his father was not answering the phone.
The man was bound with ropes that hung from the ceiling attached to his neck and other parts of his body. The victim would have tied himself up and wrapped a leash around his neck, which would end up causing suffocation and subsequent death.
Pending the results of the autopsy, which will be carried out at the Girona Institute of Legal and Forensic Medicine, the investigations point to "an accidental death" due to suffocation during a sexual ritual in which the victim was alone. Everything points to a masochistic act that would have been carried out alone, preventing anyone from helping him.
