Catalans avoid talking about their mental health problems at work

Although talking about mental health has become normalized in recent years, there is still a lot of work to do. This is revealed by the report carried out by the organization Obertament, a reference in Catalonia in the fight against stigma and discrimination of mental illnesses, which analyzes the impact of mental health in work environments.

According to the report, which includes a sample of 103 surveys of managers and human resources departments of Catalan companies and 623 workers, 9 out of 10 people who are or have gone through this problem have not felt able to talk about it in the workplace. work and the majority of these people identify work as one of the causes of their condition.

The conclusions obtained in the report are the basis of the “Hi Guanyem Tots” (We All Win) campaign. This year's communication campaign by Obertament pursues as its main objective the reduction of the stigma linked to mental health in the workplace and the improvement of business culture through raising awareness in society in general and the world of work in particular.

Om has delved into personal experiences in his work environments. The activists' co-workers (Damian Valderrama - Project Manager and Manel Cervera - Human Resources Manager) have also participated in the interviews to provide their opinion and perspective.
