A 23-year-old young man has been arrested for allegedly killing his father at the home where they both lived, on Figueres street in the town of Vilafant, in Alt Empordà (Girona).
As the ACN agency has learned, the investigation indicates that, for unknown reasons, this morning there was an argument between father and son, during which the young man attacked the man in the neck with a kitchen knife. The attack would have occurred on the threshold of the kitchen and hallway.
Later, the young man would have locked himself in the bathroom, where he would have barricaded himself until the arrival of the Mossos d'Esquadra for his subsequent arrest. The police have located a knife and a screwdriver.
The Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) of the Mossos in Girona has taken charge of the case, which is protected by the investigative court 3 of Figueres. The body of the victim, who was an imam of Roses, has been transferred to the Legal Medicine Institute of Girona where an autopsy is scheduled to be carried out this Monday. The investigation is under secrecy of proceedings.
