A DGT helicopter crashes during an emergency landing in Madrid

A helicopter belonging to the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) crashed this Sunday during an emergency landing in an area surrounding the Madrid municipality of Robledo de Chavela, as various witnesses have reported on social networks through the Social Drive account.

A DGT helicopter crashes during an emergency landing in Madrid

A helicopter belonging to the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) crashed this Sunday during an emergency landing in an area surrounding the Madrid municipality of Robledo de Chavela, as various witnesses have reported on social networks through the Social Drive account.

Firefighters and emergency services working in the area have gone to the scene. According to the first information, no fatalities have been reported and the incident has only left minor injuries.

The crashed device is a Eurocopter AS355 Twin Ecureuil with registration EC-JMK that had been flying for the DGT since 2006. The device is a twin-turbine model to be able to fly and patrol without limits over urban agglomerations, where helicopters have to fly with two engines to increase your security. At the moment the causes of the accident are unknown.
