A video posted by the Twitter account for animal lovers, @dodo, has gone viral after showing a most tender scene, in which a couple gives a pregnant dog a second chance.
Carly and Jackie were traveling through Mexico when they saw Poppy, a pregnant dog wandering down the street. Given her vulnerable situation, the couple decided to put her in her vehicle and take her to the vet, where she was treated for two days.
"They treated her for ticks and gave her a good bath, we went to visit her every day," says Jackie, who fell in love with Poppy and decided to become her owner.
Poppy quickly settled into her new home, giving birth on her first day with her new family: "Poppy went into labor at eleven at night, and finished around four in the morning", mention her caregivers, who have shown the curious way she had to thank for this opportunity: hugging them on the way home.
Poppy was the mother of no less than nine puppies, so Jackie and Carly have taken it upon themselves to provide them with the necessary care before finding them a good home.
"I firmly believe that you get the dog you need just when you need it," says Jackie, who has thrown herself into this new member of the family. Poppy simply needed someone to give her the care that every pet deserves.
