The series "La Mesías" premieres, filmed in several municipalities of Maresme

This Wednesday the series “La Mesías” premieres on Movistar, filmed partly in Maresme. It is directed by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrosi, known as “Los Javis”, a couple of directors who have managed to succeed with titles such as “La Llamada”, “Veneno” or “Paquita Salas”, and who have chosen eight municipalities in the region. as stages for audiovisual, demonstrating that elMaresme is a point of attraction for audiovisual productions. The Maresme Film Commission, the service that the Costa del Maresme Tourist Promotion Consortium offers to the municipalities of the region, is the organization in charge of promoting the arrival of production companies to the region, helping them to expedite the permits and procedures of the different locations.

The filming of the series has taken place for a good part of the geography of Maresme. In Arenys de Mar, some scenes were recorded in the legendary Johnny's nightclub; in Mataró, they shot at the Valldemia Marist school and in Can Pilé they also went through the Can Mestres civic center, the CAP and Calle de la Pergola de Òrrius; and by several private houses in Caldes d'Estrac, Santa Susanna, Sant Vicenç de Montalt and Sant Andreu de Llavaneres. One of the road tunnels also appears from this last municipality, as well as the Riera de Pineda de Tordera road.

The premiere of “La Mesías” was at the San Sebastián Festival, where it received very good reviews. It is the most ambitious and complex production of his career to date, consisting of seven chapters that narrate an almost apocalyptic family drama, which delves into faith from a dark and painful side.

The series is inspired by the religious musical group of seven sisters from Gironès, Flos Mariae, who in fiction are called Stella Maris. Television critics have already announced that the musical themes, signed by the duo Hidrogenessee, promise to go viral.

Macarena García, Roger Casamajor, Lola Dueñas, Carmen Machi, Ana Rujas and the singers Albert Pla and Amaia Romero are some of the actors that make up the cast of the series, which premieres thanks to good reviews.
