The 'calçots' and the artichokes take Sants through different activities

The calçots will continue to take over the streets and squares of Sants-Montjuïc for a few more weeks. Until well into March, the entities and festival committees of this neighborhood organize calçotades open to neighbors and strangers in public spaces at popular prices. For about 15 euros, attendees can enjoy menus that generally include these onions, romesco, meats such as sausage or chicken (there are also vegan options), white beans, bread, water, wine and an orange.

Tickets are still available for the meetings that will be held in Joan Pelegrí square (March 9), Bonet i Muixí (March 10), Badal Rambla (March 10) and Vallespir street (March 17). Tickets can be purchased in different restaurants in the area, such as Kop de Mà or La Ciutat Invisible, or on the website of the organizing bodies.

On the other hand, the bars and restaurants that are part of the D.O. Sants, an association created in 2022 that seeks to promote the restoration of the area by showing its diversity and from which they have been organizing various activities, have launched gastronomic days where seasonal and local products are also the protagonist.

Under the slogan 'Alcachofa o muerte, calçot o barbarie', the participating premises - among which are Homo Sibaris, Terra d'Escudella, Bodega Montferry, Entre Tablas or Sants es Crema (the grilled sandwich shop by chef Jordi Bernús, which will definitively close on March 9)–, they will serve dishes with these vegetables from the garden in El Prat de Llobregat.

A hamburger with calçot, radish sprouts and goat cheese, some artichokes with citrus vinaigrette, a calçot cream with candied artichoke and pear or a Milanese brioche of veal tripe with spicy olive romesco and grilled calçots are some of the proposals that will be offered until March 13.

Also, post on Instagram a photograph of one of these dishes accompanied by a calçot or a raw artichoke with the hashtag
