The Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs of the Government of Andalusia, through the general directorate of Public Health and Pharmaceutical Regulation, reported this Thursday that the presence of gluten not included on labeling has been detected in a candy container from Córdoba.
In principle, this alert only affected the Andalusian community. However, the Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (Aesan) has added that this product has also been marketed in the city of Melilla and in the autonomous communities of Madrid and Murcia.
The agency assures that "it is not ruled out that there may be redistributions to other autonomous communities." At the moment, he has not reported more.
Specifically, the regional administration has reported that the problem would be within the product "Moyano Compliant Cone Bag", where several products packaged by various manufacturers are found.
Of these, one called "Tuboloco" was found inside, whose packaging only appears this name and the legends "Sweet gels", "Winheys" and "with fruit juices", although it has been verified that both on the sheet technique of the product, as the labeling on its packaging indicates that it contains wheat flour. However, it does not warn of the presence of gluten.
As a precautionary measure, health authorities recommend people with problems derived from gluten ingestion, who may have the aforementioned product in their homes, to refrain from consuming it.
Furthermore, they remember that, for the rest of the population, the consumption of this product does not entail any health risk.
