They reveal the "constant bites" of these two well-known actors from 'La Promesa'

The Promise has been one of the surprises of Spanish Television this year. The series landed on La 1 on January 12 as a replacement for Serve and Protect, and its good audiences caught the network's top leaders off guard. Such was its success that RTVE decided to renew it for a second additional season, which premiered last Friday. Even so, the atmosphere behind the camera has been one of the most notable elements of the week.

Ana Garcés and Arturo Sancho, protagonists of the co-production with StudioCanal and Bambú Producciones, have left statements detailing their relationship before starting to record each scene. The actress from Valladolid highlighted the first impression she had of her partner a few months after starting filming in Madrid, fearing that the chemistry would be practically non-existent. However, time would end up showing him the opposite.

“The first time I said: 'Mother, I have zero chemistry with this one,'” Garcés declared. “Everyone started saying we had chemistry. It is something that people see and we play with it,” he added. Some first traces of difference that soon dissipated, especially after performing a few sequences together. It was then that the series team chose them to play the roles of Jana Expósito and Manuel de Luján, the protagonists of the series' tense plot.

Despite having very different personalities off stage and sets, Garcés assures that both maintain a very good relationship. “We have a lot of connection and we understand each other perfectly, but we are always in constant conflict. We are like the dog and the cat. We get along fantastically, but I don't have anything to do with the character, nor does Arturo have anything to do with his,” explains the interpreter.

“It's a lot of fun to film together, because he doesn't stop talking and I never want to talk. I tell him 'but he's silent now!' People burst out laughing," she added. For his part, Arturo Sancho also reacts in a similar way when asked about his relationship with his fellow protagonist. “It's wonderful to work with her, I love her a lot. I play the fool more and she is more serious and she tells me to shut up,” he details, assuring the Informalia team that interviewed them.

“It's incredible, because we work very well, we improvise and there are moments in which we can flow with each other and, thanks to that, beautiful things come out. It is wonderful to have a partner like that,” celebrates the actor from Bilbao. A good chemistry that has translated into good audience data for the Spanish Television series, which already exceeds 200 episodes. This past Monday, in the most recent example, the broadcast exceeded 12% screen share.
