Hola magazine has confirmed what was an open secret. The little girl born on March 20 in a Miami hospital is actually the granddaughter of Ana Obregón. An interview that comes after the commotion caused last Wednesday by the news of the surrogate birth. Now Ana Obregón has granted an interview to explain all the details and the reason for the decision to go for surrogacy.
The first thing the actress wanted to clarify is that this girl is not her daughter, but the daughter of her son Aless Lequio, who died three years ago. Before her son began treatment, the doctors recommended that she save samples of his sperm, in case he wanted to be a father in the future and the disease did not allow it.
For this reason, the decision has not been made suddenly, but was very well thought out by his son and the presenter. "She is the daughter of Aless and when she grows up I will tell her that her father was a hero, so that she knows who she is and how proud she has to be of him," the actress clarified.
''The decision to begin the surrogate pregnancy process, which implies, as you know, the participation of an egg donor and a surrogate mother, was made the day my child went to heaven. That same day,'' Ana Obregón recounted. Something that her son always wanted. ''What people don't know is that this was Aless's last will: to bring his son into the world. And so he communicated it orally to his father and to me a week before he died,'' she confessed.
What they did is called a holographic will and it happens when a person expresses their last wishes in front of two witnesses, when a notary cannot be present for whatever reason. There is also a document and it is totally legal. Aless wanted to leave descendants in life and that was reason enough for Ana Obregón to take the step. ''The only thing that has allowed me to continue living every day, every second, is to fulfill the mission of bringing Aless's daughter into the world,'' she explained.
