In the middle of 2023, no one doubts that Ana de Armas is one of the most relevant actresses of the moment in the whole world. The interpreter has established herself thanks to her different roles in some of the most recognized fiction films of recent times, the result of her leap to Hollywood in the middle of the last decade.
The actress, born in Cuba but of Spanish origin, achieved her first great success thanks to the Antena 3 series El Internado, in which she played one of her students, Carolina Leal. Now, Ana de Armas has recalled that stage of her in her most recent interview, given to the American magazine Wired.
The character he gave life said goodbye to the series in its sixth season, shortly before the final end of El Internado. The young Carolina was assassinated and left her followers without new plots starring De Armas.
"I started in the series when I was about 19 years old and I was playing a schoolgirl for three years," Ana recounted in the interview about that role in the series. After that, she explained that she stopped appearing in it by her own decision. "I felt that the time had come to move on because I didn't paint much there anymore," as she revealed.
Although the actress only has good words for that stage of her professional career, Ana de Armas has been very sincere about her end. "I did everything I had to do. I thought it was time to leave it and look for new challenges with which to feel fulfilled," she told Wired in an interview.
Finally, she has made it clear that, although the intention of the writers of El Internado was to continue with her character, Ana was very clear about the decision she ended up making. "I asked them to kill me, and they did it", she has revealed in relation to the young woman she gave life to in the series.
