The end of 'Save me': Mediaset could give Ana Rosa Quintana the afternoons

Rumors about the possible end of Sálvame have been running since the arrival of the new Mediaset board of directors, with Borja Prado at the helm. The space produced by La fabrica de tele would not be to the liking of the new team in the communication group and various options have been considered to cover its place, such as a new magazine presented by Paz Padilla under the production of Unicorn Content.

Several months later, the worst omens around the Telecinco evening program seem to be confirmed. According to El Mundo, the last edition of Sálvame will be broadcast on June 16, ending 14 years of the format's history and which have recently been celebrated.

Recognizable faces of the format such as Jorge Javier Vázquez or Belén Esteban have responded in recent weeks to these cancellation rumors, present since the beginning of 2023, without confirming or denying their continuity. The announcement of its end will be made official in the next few hours, always as published by El Mundo.

In addition, Mediaset would already have a clear replacement for Jorge Javier and the entire team of Sálvame collaborators: Ana Rosa Quintana. The presenter of Telecinco's morning program, El programa de Ana Rosa, would combine a smaller work in her space with conducting the new format for the channel's afternoons. In the space that bears her name, she alone would be in charge of the political table, delegating the rest of the content to Joaquín Prat.

Although it has not yet been confirmed which production company will take over the afternoon slot on the main Mediaset channel, it is expected that Unicorn Content will once again be behind this new format. The production company belongs to Ana Rosa Quintana herself and is fully trusted by the group's management team. Thus, it would have an even greater weight on the Telecinco grid, where it is already in charge of El programa de AR and Ya es mediodía as daily spaces.

As La Vanguardia has learned, the Sálvame team has learned the outcome of the format live and, although they have not spoken about it before the cameras, their reaction has been one of absolute disbelief. The collaborators would be in shock at news that, although it was already kicking through the corridors of Mediaset, nobody expected it to finally come true.
