Sebastián Yatra lives one of his best professional moments. The Colombian composer enjoys great popularity not only in our country, but in the rest of the planet, thanks to hits such as Tacones Rojos, Traicionera or Pareja del año. But those who have followed the singer for a long time know that one of the most important moments in his career came with his nomination at the 94th edition of the Oscars, for his song Dos oruguitas from the Disney movie Enchantment.

Yatra wants more. Now, he tries his luck with his new song: A night without thinking, an energetic song with electronic rhythms. The release of the song was also accompanied by the video clip for the song, which features the participation of the Spanish actress Milena Smit.

The lyrics tell a love story. It is what his fans expect, because in almost all the Colombian songs he addresses love and heartbreak, with different rhythms, ranging from a ballad to a style mixed with some reggaeton.

But the artist's life has not been easy. He was born on October 15, 1994 in Medellín (Colombia) and, although he is better known as Sebastián Yatra, his real name is Sebastián Obando Giraldo. He uses that nickname for his mother.

"It was my mother who advised me as an artistic surname. And that path has taken me far. She is a very honest person, very intuitive, very pure, a woman who has brought me intensely closer to her spirituality," she explained in an interview for Elle. In the Hindu language, Yatra means "sacred path to the divine", almost a premonition of all the good things that would come to him thanks to her music.

Soon after, he moved with his family to the city of Cartagena. At the age of 5, she settled in the city of Miami in the USA, where she completed her academic studies, and also studied art.

Before moving, his family had to deal with violence and drug trafficking: "Medellín was a place full of drug trafficking. A place that at that time was very difficult. There was a point where my father walked around with a gun to defend themselves for anything," Yatra said in an interview with Caracol Televisión.

He rose to fame with his song Treacherous, the second single from his debut album Mantra. From there, she got an Oscar nomination for the song Dos oruguitas from the Disney movie Charm. Although she did not get the statuette, she did get the recognition of the critics and the popularity of the entire public.

The definitive success came with Tacones Rojos (2021), a song that included the participation in the video clip of the Spanish actress and model Clara Galle, with whom she became related on a sentimental level. The single managed to be in Spotify's Global Top 50.

Currently, he is a consolidated artist. His singles that have turned the genre around, reaching 16 billion streams and more than 21 million monthly listeners on Spotify, in addition to having several awards including a Grammy nomination, eight Latin Grammy nominations or four at the Latin American Music Awards. Collaborations with other artists have also given him very good results. Among them, the Ideal Girl with Guaynaa stands out, which has exceeded 712 million global reproductions and flat certifications in several countries.
