The world is full of musical instruments that bring great melodies and moments to the world. From a guitar solo to great displays of saxophones or trumpets, to the most complex interpretations with the help of an organ. An instrument can mark a person, and one of the most symbolic on all artistic levels is the piano, which will soon take center stage at Atresmedia.
La Sexta is preparing the next premiere of El Piano, a new television format in which various participants must demonstrate their skills on the keys of the instrument in different public settings. In a similar way to what happens in the days before the Maria Canals Concurs in Barcelona, each person will have to play the piano in front of passersby and curious public who will be able to stop to listen to the melodies.
“'El Piano' is the adaptation of the format that has taken the United Kingdom by storm and is considered the revelation format of last year. It was the best premiere of a new entertainment program in the last 6 years on Channel 4. And in addition, it has already been sold in the Netherlands (RTL4), Denmark (TV2) and given its success, it has confirmed a second and third season on United Kingdom”, states the Atresmedia network in its press release.
Likewise, a group of expert pianists will be in charge of analyzing the performances from a special room, secretly deciding who deserves to be the winner of the contest. In addition, The Piano will address the story of each candidate in a more personal way, as is the case of the first British winner, Lucy. The British royal house was in charge of choosing it to play live during the coronation of Charles III as king.
In charge of this project, according to Formula TV exclusively, will be the former representative of Spain in Eurovision Ruth Lorenzo. The Murcian singer has experience in this type of programs after becoming known in 2008 through Factor X, before traveling to the song festival in 2014. Her skills as a presenter also support her, hosting Cover Night on La 1 and 2024 edition of Benidorm Fest.
In addition to these spaces, she was also involved as a jury in Operación Triunfo 2020, as well as participating in Your face sounds to me. She now joins El Piano after years of musical career, releasing songs sporadically and participating in many other projects related to the medium. The premiere date on La Sexta is still unknown.
