Nobody expected that the Catalan and the Puerto Rican would separate, since a few months before they had announced their engagement through the launch of their first and last joint musical project called RR, with which they achieved great success thanks to the song Beso. Everything seemed to be going swimmingly, but in July 2023 the artists' lives took a 180 degree turn.
Everything was so sudden that in a matter of hours numerous theories and speculations about the reasons for the breakup were circulating on social media. One of the theories that had the most impact internationally was the possibility that the Puerto Rican singer had been unfaithful to Rosalía. Nothing could be confirmed and everything remained simple speculation, since neither party wanted to comment on the reasons for their separation.
Now, months after all the controversy, the Puerto Rican artist has broken his silence about his relationship with the Catalan woman in a recent interview given to YouTuber Vicente Chente Ydrach. ''The last time we spoke, your relationship situation was on another level, very different from right now,'' the content creator began by saying.
''It must be sad or complicated cases like yours, where a sentimental breakup is so scrutinized by the media. We thought, at one point, that it was a setup,'' the YouTuber said. ''What can I tell you, I had never experienced it, it was the first time something like this happened to me, and it was strong. Many things are happening at the same time, and one is not prepared, there is no teaching about that (...) The world today, what the media are, are going to hell, TikTok, the yellow press, they are invented any news and they give you a headline. They tell you the truth in the smallest words, but people always read the headline, and it is very powerful, because it is like what the headline says is what happened, and they don't read,'' he declared.
''We had been there for almost four years and nothing had happened, no negative news ever came out, no infidelity or anything, and when our news came out, neither of us wanted to say it and they said it in a very... leaving everything open to speculation,'' the artist assured.
''Obviously it frustrates me, because there is the life of the artist, the life of show business, but there is the personal life, and everything I have experienced in it is real, the friendship, my past partner. I project what I am, I am not a character and it is difficult for people to really separate what Rauw Alejandro is from Raúl. It was a strange, strong summer,'' explained the singer.
In addition, the artist also wanted to complain about the number of montages they made as a result of several images taken out of context from an advertising campaign. ''If one day I want to go out with a friend for coffee, the next day I already have a girlfriend. "I can't do anything, I try to take care of myself," he said. Likewise, the singer confirmed that they both talked about all the media commotion that was generated. ''It doesn't matter if she defends me or not, if a news story comes out saying that you did this, they already put the stigma on you,'' he asserted. ''Our relationship was very positive, nothing toxic. Very nice,' he said.
