Kate Middleton's state of health worries the Crown: "Something went wrong in the postoperative period"

Kate Middleton's absence from recent public events has finally been clarified through a statement issued by Kensington Palace, announcing that she has undergone a planned abdominal operation. This announcement has cleared up doubts, but has opened the door to new speculation about the nature of this intervention.

Concha Calleja, a journalist with extensive experience covering the British royal family, has shed light in Fiesta on the princess's situation with some details. Apparently, as her sources have informed her, "something has gone wrong post-operatively" and Middleton will have to recover for longer than expected.

In this sense, Middleton is not expected to reappear until after Easter. Prince William, in this situation, has decided to stay by his wife's side and has postponed some of the official events that he had scheduled. Carole and Michael Middleton, the princess's parents, have traveled to Adelaide Cottage to be with her.

According to Calleja, Middleton's operation was not as simple as it was initially made out to be. Thus, the journalist clarified that the princess had been ill for several weeks before she was admitted to the hospital on December 28. "Although they say it was not an emergency, the operation was with some urgency," said the journalist, insinuating that the situation was more serious than had been reported.

Middleton's last public appearance was at the Christmas lunch and, after that, her health began to deteriorate until she ended up in the hospital. "It was not the first time that he felt unwell, but there is already a warning signal here," Calleja said, suggesting that the princess could have been struggling with undetermined health problems for some time.

Furthermore, Calleja pointed out that the succession of statements from the Royal Family regarding the interventions of King Charles III and the Princess of Wales was not coincidental. "The situation, in general, was serious enough that within a few days everyone knew that something was quite wrong in the Royal House," he said.

Despite knowing more information about the operation, Calleja has remained tight-lipped about the exact nature of the surgical intervention, mentioning only that "it was not a simple operation." The British Royal Family has also assured that it is not any type of cancer. The journalist has also indicated that Kensington Palace is likely to issue more statements soon, indicating that new details about Middleton's health will soon be known.
