Hundreds of Madrid residents applaud Almeida on the mayor's arrival at the church

José Luis Martínez-Almeida is one of the politicians most loved by a large part of Spaniards. This affection has become evident upon his arrival at the church of San Francisco de Borja, in Madrid, to marry Teresa Urquijo, the aristocrat who won his heart just over two years ago.

The mayor of Madrid arrived half an hour before the ceremony began and at the entrance he met a large number of Madrid residents who wanted to come to the vicinity of the temple to see him live and, ultimately, wish him good luck in this new stage.

Martínez-Almeida, who was dressed in a classic cut morning coat with some personal details, wanted to thank all these expressions of affection. Thus, the Madrid mayor has greeted all those residents of Madrid who have dedicated part of their time to him.

Almeida wanted to wait for King Juan Carlos I at the door of the church. The emeritus, who traveled expressly to attend the ceremony, also took a great mass bath. The same fate has befallen Isabel Díaz Ayuso, who has arrived without her partner and she also wanted to reciprocate the Madrid residents who have applauded her.

Once the wedding has taken place, the couple will celebrate with their loved ones a great banquet at Canto de la Cruz, property of the Urquijo family in Colmenar Viejo, located about 40 kilometers from the capital. As reported by ABC, the cost of the menu per guest will amount to 175 euros, which will increase the total cost of the event to 96,000 euros. The restaurant chosen was Lhardy.

Afterwards, the newlyweds will embark on a 10-day honeymoon trip that will take them to explore the exotic Maldives Islands and the kingdom of Bhutan. During her absence, Inma Sanz, the vice mayor, will assume local government responsibilities.
