Fashioners of the World: A new batch of IED talents presents its first collection in Barcelona

The European Institute of Design has held this Monday a new edition of the Fashioners of the World fashion days to close the cycle of fashion students. The recent graduates in Higher Artistic Education in Fashion Design have been able to carry out their first professional fashion show in La Paloma (Barcelona), thanks to the collaboration of Studio1o.

The proposals of the 25 graduate students who have paraded in the emblematic ballroom have been inspired by concepts such as sustainability, self-discovery and inclusivity. A new batch of talents who seek to value the diversity of gender, bodies and sizes through their designs and who understand that the future of fashion involves using sustainable fabrics and materials as well as implementing the most cutting-edge technologies in this industry.

The jury in this edition has been made up of the film director Isabel Coixet, the photographer Manuel Outumuro, the illustrator Jordi Labanda, the designer Luis de Javier, the executive editor of Vogue Talents, Elsa Pervinca, the founder of 1Granary, Olya Kuryschuck and Eyes on Talent's creative talent manager, Youwie Roes.

This group of professionals has awarded the Franca Sozzani Prize for the best collection to the student Claudia Sala. With a modern and fresh vision, his 090623 line -name that refers to the date of completion of his thesis- has delved into the passage of time through classic garments but with a current point, the mixture of materials and details such as the embroidery, beads or steel.

In the field of fashion documentary, the Isabel Coixet award for best fashion film went to Paula Azategui with her No land to call our own. The filmmaker who gives the award its name has highlighted the risk of the proposal, which introduces us to a dystopian world, or not so much, destroyed by climate change.
