Cruise 2025 Collections: from the link between London and Gucci to the historic Dior castle

Large luxury brands have been organizing fashion shows around the world for many years to present their cruise collections – also called “resort” – lines originally designed to respond to the demands of a wealthy clientele who go on winter vacations to paradisiacal destinations.

Every year the destination changes depending on the inspiration of the collection, as some brands take the opportunity to do a cultural immersion in the country and collaborate with local artisans.

This is the case of the Dior house, which in recent editions has traveled to Mexico or Seville to soak up the cultures of those countries. This 2025, the parade will take place in Scotland on June 3, 2024, in the gardens of Drummond Castle. A historical architectural treasure, to reveal the silhouettes designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri.

A poetic invitation in which the past and the future meet, celebrating the unique and powerful bonds forged since the beginnings of the House, for the Autumn-Winter show of 1947. On that occasion, the founding couturier named an emblematic set of haute couture under the name of Écosse. Such affinities were further affirmed during a sumptuous ball orchestrated at the Gleneagles Hotel for the Spring-Summer 1955 collection. So many tributes to the beauty of travel and cultures that this new cruise show will stand out more than ever.

With London's dynamic cultural landscape as a backdrop, the Tate Modern becomes the perfect setting in which to realize Gucci creative director Sabato De Sarno's vision for the Cruise 2025 collection show. The Tate Modern constitutes an axis of creative activity and dialogue in which diverse perspectives come together that inspire transcendent conversations and stimulate cultural exchange. The intersection between art and architecture gives life to an environment that, like the city itself, promotes innovation and challenges limits.

Inspired by his many trips to London over the years, where he had the opportunity to explore the city's cultural diversity, Sabato De Sarno seeks to capture the essence of the London spirit: a confluence of ideas, styles and contrasting personalities that encourage creativity .

The deep link between Gucci and London dates back to the founding of the House by Guccio Gucci. His stay in London back in 1897 marked a turning point and shaped his conception of luxury and craftsmanship. During his time as a bellhop at the Savoy Hotel, Guccio immersed himself in the city's vibrant culture, a learning that would later influence the brand's identity.

Louis Vuitton will hold the parade of its Cruise 2025 collection in Barcelona, on May 23, 2024, in one of the many actions that the House will launch in collaboration with the Catalan capital to accompany the 37th Louis Vuitton America's Cup, which will begin in Barcelona in August 2024 and which will be preceded by the Louis Vuitton Cup, a preliminary qualifying competition.

The last stop of Louis Vuitton's journey in the Catalan capital will transport all its attendees to one of the most vibrant and dynamic cities in Europe. An important cultural center and tourist destination on the shores of the Mediterranean.

In addition to the show, Louis Vuitton will celebrate the LV Cup and the 37th edition of the America's Cup in Barcelona with a program that will include multiple events, an exhibition and other cultural activations with guests from around the world. The Maison will take advantage of this unique occasion to present its long-awaited Barcelona Travel Guide in a pop-up kiosk. Likewise, Barcelona and Louis Vuitton are working on a series of educational programs to support creativity and design in the city.

The Maison Chanel will present its Cruise 2024/25 collection on Thursday, May 2, 2024 in Marseille. This event will celebrate the energy and cultural vitality that make this city one of the most effervescent places on the Mediterranean coast.

First created by Gabrielle Chanel in the late 1910s, the Cruise collection is an integral part of the Maison's codes. After Les Baux-de-Provence, Monte Carlo and Los Angeles, Chanel is proud to be able to make a stopover in such a culturally open city.

After traveling to Porto and Stockholm, Max Mara is preparing to present its next Cruise collection in Venice, Italy, on June 11, 2024. The brand set the bar very high last edition with a proposal inspired by Scandinavian culture and in female empowerment.

A presentation that coincided with the celebration of Midsommar, a party that celebrates the summer solstice and is characterized by multi-colored flowers and white, bohemian dresses. The collection was also inspired by a transgenerational icon, Selma Lagerlöf, the first woman to win a Nobel Prize.
