Criticism of Luis Miguel for his strange Spanish accent in his latest advertisement: "It's not him"

Luis Miguel and identity theft go as hand in hand as the waves in a soccer game. The nicknamed “Sol de México” has had a busy summer with his tour through Latin America, even being temporarily hospitalized for a respiratory condition in Chile. However, what his followers stood out and questioned most at the concerts was his appearance and his voice, even going so far as to doubt that it was him. Something that has happened again.

On this occasion, the singer has starred in a life insurance advertisement with a certain Christmas air, in which he celebrates a dinner with loved ones. Despite the setting and the message, the most striking thing about the entire spot was the only phrase that the artist uttered: “Life is made of unique moments.” A statement that has gone viral, according to users, due to its particular pronunciation, attempting an accent somewhere between that of Spain and that of Mexico.

One of the morning programs that commented on the announcement was Aruser@s, on La Sexta. Tatiana Arús gave the pertinent explanations on set: “What surprised us the most is that Spanish accent with which Luis Miguel surprises us. “People have criticized that accent between Spanish and Mexican that is quite dry.” The presenter of the space, Alfons Arús, did not understand the reason for the complaints: “But why? But if he talks like that.”

“But he is Mexican. How is he going to speak? Well, the way he talks,” Angie Cárdenas added to the conversation. Even so, the networks have been filled with comments that questioned his cadence, even going so far as to assure that it was not Luis Miguel himself, for the umpteenth time in 2023. “La vida she hashe de queeee? And why do they dub his voice? Could it be double what Argentines talk about?” asked a user on X (Twitter).

“The Rolling Stones sponsored by AARP on their tour of the USA and Luis Miguel announcing care for older adults in the United States. “They both know their audience,” commented another user, as it is a campaign from the company Alignment Health. “Micky Jakska has not been heard to speak for about three years,” read another response. A disbelief similar to that which occurred during his concerts in Buenos Aires, where people believed that he was using a double.

“I'm already telling you that on the opening day it wasn't him who went on stage. He plays with his doubles, with his similarities. You know he came with the foreign doubles of him. Are two. They did not travel on the same plane, logically, because otherwise someone can make a comparison. They came at different times from the previous one. He was not him. He is much smaller in the shoulders. When you go on a diet you don't shrink your bones,” journalist Luis Ventura reiterated at the time.
