Chenoa's revealing reaction when asked if she will participate in OT2023

Without a doubt, it is one of the news of the week on the television scene: Operación Triunfo returns, but it does so in a totally different way than usual. Prime Video has confirmed this Tuesday that it will host the twelfth edition of the program, which can be seen exclusively in Spain and in more than 30 countries and territories in Latin America at the end of 2023. The format will become the first live weekly content to premiere on this platform in Spain. Now, Chenoa, a contestant in the first edition in 2001, has talked about this return and about whether she will compete in the talent show.

As we said, OT is one of the formats most loved by viewers in Spain. The talent show that began in 2001 on RTVE has seen the birth of great faces in the music industry in our country, such as David Bisbal, Aitana, Amaia, Miki Núñez, Manuel Carrasco, David Bustamante, Pablo López, Lola Índigo or Chenoa, among many others. In fact, it has been the latter who has already spoken about the return of the format.

The singer has given an interview to the program Take it less seriously, by Carlos Marco for Europa FM, where she has spoken about whether she will be part of the new edition of the contest in any way. "I wanted to ask you one thing, although I know you are not going to release anything, but I have an intuition that they may have called you to present or as a director," said the presenter, before a very nervous Chenoa.

"I can't say anything," Chenoa expressed, trying to avoid the subject. "I have also thought the same thing," Vanesa Martín, a guest on the program, confessed at the time. "It would be a project that would obviously close my circle, because I have been in the first edition, for me it is something super special," the ex-triumph began by saying. "I keep listening to what I covered and the same nerves keep getting me, as if I were there, and they are experiences that remain for a lifetime. I love OT, of course I want it. I would love it, I won't say no", he sentenced, leaving the door open.

The news of the return of Operación Triunfo was confirmed last Tuesday at an event held in Madrid. In this new edition, the format will return thanks to the production company Gestmusic, which launched the format and will continue to include weekly live galas, as well as a 24-hour broadcast on YouTube and Prime Video. The platform has not revealed who will be the new presenter of the format. It should be remembered that in its last edition, that of 2020, it was Roberto Leal who led it.

"Fans of Operación Triunfo have enjoyed this format, which has filled the hearts of millions of viewers with joy, for more than 22 years. We are delighted that the program will return not only in Spain, but also in Latin America, and make history with the first weekly content to be broadcast live on Prime Video in Spain," James Farrell, Prime Video's vice president of local original content, said on the day of the announcement.

Without a doubt, the return of the format is very good news for all those loyal fans who always await its return. The last edition of the program that was broadcast on TVE was in 2020. The fourth edition was the first broadcast on Telecinco, from which other stars such as Pablo López, Edurne or Soraya emerged and, after resenting over the years in terms of audience, it resurfaced in 2017 back on RTVE with Amaia Romero as the winner and Aitana as second classified.
