Baby Botox: what is it and who is it intended for?

The application of botulinum toxin corresponds to one of the most common treatments to combat facial aging. However, how many punctures is too many? This is one of the many controversial issues surrounding this medical-aesthetic product. Botox is injected into strategic areas of the face with the intention of relaxing the facial muscles so that wrinkles and expression lines are minimized. It is generally seen as a remedy, but it is also used as prevention, it is baby botox.

Although it may sound new to some, specialized clinics have been using this type of botox for a long time, which, although it is very similar to the conventional one, is not exactly the same. However, both share the same objective: to declare war on the signs of aging.

The so-called baby botox consists of the application of botulinum toxin, by means of minimal doses, in very specific points of the face, those that are susceptible to the formation of wrinkles and expression lines. With this technique, what it is about is preventing its appearance, that is, the injections take place in areas where these signs of natural aging of the skin have not yet appeared.

For this reason, the main difference with Botox, in addition to the amounts that are applied with each injection, is the age range of the people who undergo this procedure. Baby Botox is designed for a younger audience that seeks to prevent the wrinkle from becoming marked by the activity of the facial muscles. Therefore, it is a preventive treatment.

The usual duration of baby Botox can be extended between four and six months. Therefore, as you can imagine, this procedure is something that must be reapplied periodically to fulfill its function. Although the first thing to keep in mind is that, before undergoing this treatment, you must have the approval of health personnel. Since it is necessary to ensure that there is no risk of suffering from certain contraindications.

Once the baby botox has been administered, patients are not allowed to touch their face or apply products on it, such as creams or makeup. Nor should you do certain activities, such as exercising. This must be respected during the first four hours after the injections.

Despite everything, baby botox presents certain risks, although they are not usually the norm. One of them is the appearance of bruises, which would require a medical review to check their condition and evolution.
