Alba Silva publishes an emotional photo of Sergio Rico

The Spanish goalkeeper Sergio Rico remains stable in the Virgen del Rocío hospital in Seville after suffering a head injury from being kicked by a horse in the Rocío pilgrimage (Huelva). The goalkeeper is being treated by intensive care specialists and is awaiting progress. The latest information suggests that Rico's sedation has been withdrawn and "he squeezed his hand a little and reacted to stimuli," according to The Ana Rosa program.

His wife, the journalist Alba Silva, who has also become his spokesperson, regularly shares how her husband is doing, does not leave his side. Not only if there are news, but Silva also takes advantage of her social networks to send messages of gratitude to her followers for all the support and, incidentally, show the immense love she has for her husband.

On this last occasion, the Sevillian shared an emotional photo of the couple, in which she precisely demonstrates her desire to see him again.

The journalist continues to remain cautious and cautious, but she cannot help but be optimistic about her husband's progress more than a week after his admission. The Sevillian is proud that the goalkeeper is "fighting" for her life and responding to certain stimuli after removing sedation completely, which has given the family the boost they needed to not lose hope.

From the Seville hospital it was reported last Thursday in a statement that the goalkeeper was evolving "favorably" while he remained in the ICU and once the sedation was withdrawn, but it must not be forgotten that his condition is still serious and he is being cared for by a multidisciplinary team of specialists. It will be this Friday when the hospital will issue a new part in which it will give the latest data on Rico's health.

For the moment, the news is hopeful, so it will be necessary to see the opinion of the specialists. What is certain is that the family of the Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper will remain by his side. Proof of this with the moving words that his sister-in-law, Rocío Silva, dedicated to him on Thursday night. "You always fought against all odds," Silva writes, in an emotional letter. "Now you're back to fight another battle, the battle of your life," she says, urging the player "to fight like the titan that you are."

The player had been in an induced coma for ten days after suffering an accident with a cart with mules and a horse while participating in the annual pilgrimage to El Rocío. According to the sports newspaper Marca, Rico was riding a horse at the time of the accident and, according to eyewitnesses, he would have received several kicks from the animal once on the ground.

Given the seriousness of his condition, the Sevillian is monitored and cared for in a multidisciplinary way by the Intensive Medicine team and by other specialists at Virgen del Rocío.
