Actress Erin Moriaty returns to Instagram after controversy over her facial touch-ups: "I missed you"

Last February, actress Erin Moriarty said enough was enough and lashed out at her detractors, announcing that she was leaving her Instagram account after accusations and unfounded claims that she underwent several cosmetic procedures and plastic surgery that would have changed her face.

Moriarty, 29, claimed to be "horrified" by the hateful comments she received and insisted that she was not going to use her social media account and was going to focus on her work. A month later, however, the protagonist of The Boys has returned to the social network with a brief message: "I missed you."

The American actress, who plays Annie January in the famous Prime Video series, also publishes a selfie in which her face is pointed out, perhaps in response to the controversy that forced her to leave after the Fox News journalist, Megyn Kelly accused her of having "destroyed her face" and doing so as a sign of "mental illness" and "disturbing."

The actress already stated at the time that her followers could believe what they wanted, but she assured that the rumors were "absolutely false." Moriarty advocates for respect and education in networks, but she acknowledged that the personal situation she had experienced with that situation had "consumed" her.

"Social media is a platform that does not represent a person in its entirety and, in any case, there is no excuse for the words that have been said directly about me," said the actress in response to speculation that she has had surgery on her lips and nose, among other procedures.

The photos of Moriarty's alleged "before and after" became viral on social networks, destroying the interpreter, who wanted to clarify that she was not even 21 years old in the "before" photo, while she was not wearing makeup in the " after".

"We are all subject to levels of harassment throughout our lives, but I am horrified and felt I deserved to take a second to address these things," she wrote.

The actress, apparently more recovered, has resumed her professional commitments. Oblivious to the gossip, Moriarty has just finished filming The Haunting, in which she stars alongside Jamie Campbell Bower; and she is dedicated to the long-awaited premiere of the new season of The Boys, which will arrive on June 13.
