After a few months fighting an aggressive cancer that was progressing uncontrollably, the Colombian model and actress Alejandra Villafañe has died. The news has generated a great social response, since the young woman had been sharing her process on social networks for some time and she had accumulated many fans.
Although the girl was diagnosed in May, she did not share that she was suffering from the disease until June: "They diagnosed me with this little word that we don't like to pronounce and it scares us a little (...) Everything is going to be well, I assure you. On May 12 I was diagnosed with cancer, I feel like I have lived 10 years in two months, I have learned many things about life, I strengthened my faith in God and I have seen how the people I love the most become heroes to be with you, there, accompanying you".
During the months following the announcement of his condition, Villafañe did not hesitate to publish on the Internet (especially on his official Instagram account) all types of content related to the medical process, from a surgical intervention that he faced (and became complicated) until his first chemotherapy session. ''My first chemotherapy, in the midst of so much uncertainty, putting a good face on it and receiving it with love was my option, without failing to say that it has been the most challenging and devastating test, it is a very expensive transaction," she mused.
The Colombian mannequin used different platforms to connect with her audience. Every day, hundreds of people sent her encouragement and strength to end the disease, something that the model greatly valued and was endlessly grateful for.
The American artist rose to fame after emerging victorious from the Miss Earth Colombia pageant in 2014. Since then, Villafañe began to participate in different audiovisual productions on Canal RCN and Signal Colombia, as well as in series and projects on streaming platforms such as Netflix or Amazon Prime Video.
Villafañe's boyfriend, also actor Raúl Ocampo, was with the young woman at all times during her fight against cancer. The couple never lost hope, so the woman's death has left the artist completely devastated.
To say goodbye to her publicly, Ocampo has uploaded a carousel of photos to her official Instagram account in which she shows different romantic moments with her life partner. Accompanying the snapshots, the interpreter has written some beautiful and simple words: ''I want you to know that... forever. Alejandra Villafañe''.
