A former Rubiales coworker who sued him for workplace harassment speaks

The Spanish women's soccer team made history last Sunday by becoming world champions for the first time in this country. However, the victory has been marred by a controversy that has not gone unnoticed and has generated numerous reactions around the planet: Luis Rubiales, president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, kissed the player Jennifer Hermoso on the mouth during the delivery of trophies.

Despite the fact that at first the soccer player reported that she had not liked what had happened, a statement issued by the RFEF a short time later assured that it had "been a mutual gesture." After this, the permanence of Rubiales in his position has been put on the table and Rubiales' alleged harassment of a former co-worker has come to light.

The Summer Program interviewed Tamara Ramos this Wednesday, a woman who denounced Rubiales for an alleged crime of workplace harassment 10 years ago. The events would have occurred when the complainant worked as the marketing director of the Association of Spanish Soccer Players, at the same time that Rubiales was the president of said organization.

Despite the fact that everything would have happened a decade ago, Ramos wanted to speak for the first time because she believes that "now it is easier" for them to believe her: "He has a very good speech, with a lot of demagogy. And it is difficult, especially being a woman, that they would have believed me."

Visibly nervous, Tamara Ramos has begun to recount the moment for what, according to what she herself denounced, would have happened: "I have experienced humiliation, blows and words that I cannot repeat due to the schedule, but it has been an outrage for a long time."

Among other things, the former worker has assured that she even asked him questions about her privacy "of the type of what color are you wearing your underwear today". But that is not all. She wanted to make it clear that the manager would not have shyed away when doing these things in public: "In front of everyone he said, with the sarcasm he has of laughter, come see that you have come here to put on your knee pads."

"When I sued him, I was with two babies. The three-month-old little one. I had a terrible time because you lose your job, but I asked him to terminate the contract. He didn't want to, he told me that if I left I would be unemployed and I had to sue", Tamara Ramos assured. Even so, it seems that they reached an agreement.

After recounting what he stated in the lawsuit, Ramos has given his opinion on what happened with Jennifer Hermoso. "I cannot judge, it has to be the courts and the people. But in my opinion, I believe that a person with that education and those forms should not be representing any Spanish institution", he has concluded emphatically.
