Torres, the SUV that inaugurates a new stage for SsangyYong

The year 2023 has been very prolific for Ssangyong in terms of launches. First it was the Musso Sports pick-up and later came the 100% electric version of the Korando, the e-Motion. Now it is the turn of a completely new vehicle, the Torres, an SUV with a daring design that inaugurates a new stage for the Korean brand.

The aesthetic, full of authenticity and emotion, is called to be one of the great arguments of its success. Ssangyong defines it as a robust but contemporary style and, above all, it provides a marked differentiation from its competitors.

The robust and dynamic appearance is based on details such as the voluminous and angular wheel arches. The front has a very personal design, with a grill of six vertical elements and full LED optics. On the side and in the rear area it also has specific elements, among which the original widened C-pillar that extends towards the roof stands out. At the rear stands out a hexagonal trim reminiscent of a spare wheel cover.

The new SsangYong SUV has a length of 470 cm, a width of 189 cm, a height of 171 cm and a wheelbase of 268 cm. With these dimensions it is located between the Korando and the Rexton. It is available in seven colors and three alloy wheel sizes, with different diamond-cut designs, which can be 17, 18 or 20 inches.

The interior maximizes the concepts of spaciousness, sophistication, refinement and quality of finishes. The passenger compartment has been equipped with high-quality materials such as upholstery, which can be made of brown leather in the upper finishes. The luggage space is very remarkable, with a useful volume of 839 liters in the measurement up to the roof.

Safety is a well-resolved section thanks to the Ssangyong SASS Advanced Safety System, which includes automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assistance, forward vehicle warning, fatigue alert or safety distance warning.

The new Torres is powered by a four-cylinder 1.5 GDI Turbo with ISG gasoline engine with a maximum power of 163 HP and maximum torque of 280 Nm. The approved average consumption is 7.9 liters per 100 km and can be associated with a 6-speed manual transmission, or with a 6-speed automatic transmission and 4WD, depending on finishes. In 2024 it will be the turn of a 100% electric variant.

Ssangyong has planned a range consisting of four versions and three trim levels and offers, since its launch, an LPG version, capable of running interchangeably with gasoline or liquefied petroleum gas. In this way, you can also enjoy the advantages derived from the DGT ECO badge.

The new Torres is available at prices starting at 31,000 euros, a price that includes a commercial campaign for the Korean brand, if the vehicle is reserved until the end of September.
