The best cards with cashback: get money back from your purchases!

For some time now, bank cards have gained ground over cash. It is increasingly less common to carry bills or coins in your wallet for daily expenses, since it is much more convenient to pay for purchases, restaurants and services with a credit card.

What if, in addition to this convenience, they allow you to recover part of the money spent with them? To encourage the use of these plastics, especially credit cards, more and more banks are launching cashback cards. In general, they usually return between 1% and 5% of the amount spent monthly, although some entities offer refunds of up to 25% on specific brands.

“When hiring a card, whether debit or credit, it is important not only to look for options without commissions, but also that allow us to save with discounts or refunds on purchases. Currently, there is such a varied offer that it is worth taking a look to choose the one that will be most useful to us,” explain the experts at the financial comparator HelpMyCash.

With the price of fuel through the roof, one of the most sought-after discounts is on gasoline. Banks are aware of this, which is why one of their most notable promotions is to offer a refund of a percentage of the refueling expense.

The ING credit card returns 3% when you fill up with fuel at Galp and Shell gas stations. Additionally, their Orange program offers up to 25% cash back on select brands. So it is perfect if you usually make all purchases without cash.

The Abanca Visa Tú credit card ups the ante and reimburses up to 4% per month when refueling at Galp. Of course, it sets a reimbursement limit of 600 euros per month.

“Although there are very attractive promotions that can lead us to choose a card for a “bargain”, it is important to look at the maximum amount to be returned from this promotion and how long it lasts. Since perhaps it is better for us to contract a card that, for example, the cashback on gasoline is lower, but that offers us a wide variety of discounts in establishments where we usually shop," the experts point out.

In addition to gasoline, you can also save by shopping or going on a trip.

The Revolut card, one of the most popular for travel, offers 3% cashback on accommodations around the world in its standard plan. A percentage that increases up to 10% on your Metal and Ultra cards. Their superior plans also offer a refund of 1% per month on everything paid with their cards and all options have a catalog of well-known brands with returns ranging from 1% to 5% per purchase.

The EVO Banco smart card also offers cashback on accommodations, specifically 4% on reservations made through the Booking platform. A good option if you usually travel and do not want to contract a premium plan, since this card is completely free and without commissions.

“It is very important that when taking advantage of the discount or purchase refund that a card offers us, we take into account the conditions. Some of these promotions are only for purchases paid in installments. We must calculate that the interest for splitting the purchase does not exceed the savings obtained with the refund; Otherwise, we could end up losing money,” they warn from the comparator.
