San Sebastián implements 21 new DBizi stations

The municipal bicycle rental system of San Sebastián, Dbizi, reaches new neighborhoods of the city such as Altza or Bidebieta with the launch of 21 new stations, with 257 new electric bicycles.

At a press conference, the mayor of San Sebastián, Eneko Goia, and the managing director of Dbus, Igor Gonzalez, presented the expansion of the DBizi system, which already has a total of 70 stations, all of them mixed, with 317 electric bicycles and 317 mechanical bicycles on the street.

"Extending the system to new neighborhoods also requires expanding the network in the Centro-Amara-Antiguo-Gros-Egia area to be able to respond to the movements that occur between neighborhoods and enable stations in more central areas to have free anchorages" , has indicated Goia. For this reason, in addition to installing new stations in these areas, the number of anchorages in some existing stations will also be increased.

"This extension also contributes to the promotion of sustainable mobility in our city, reinforcing the intermodality of public transport", he stressed. DBizi also has a new communication campaign under the slogan 'Live more Dbizi'.

The new DBizi stations are at Julio Urkixo 44 and the Plaza de Nornahi in Bidebieta; in Harrobieta and San Marcial de Altza squares, in the sports center of this neighbourhood, the e3 Buenavista roundabout and Paseo de Larratxo 24. In Intxaurrondo, a new station has been installed at Paseo Txaparrene 26 (Zubiaurre) in Antiguo-Ibaeta five more ( Satrustegi Avenue 1, Escolta Real 28, Pío Baroja 20, Sert and Berio square 42).

Three others are added in Aiete, specifically in Bera Bera; Pagola-Lugaritz and Txapillo street and another in Añorga, at the access roundabout to Añorga Txiki. The Center has two new stations, in Moraza 1 and in the Náutico, and 12 new anchorages have been added to the existing stations.

In Amara, a new station has been installed in Olaeta/Ferrerías and eight anchorages have been added to the existing stations. Finally, in Gros-Egia three stations have been installed at Zabaleta 35; Ametzagaina 47 and Zuhaizti square.

Part of this expansion of the service, specifically 132 electric bicycles, have been financed through the Next Generation Funds of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (MITMA).
