Perte VEC II window opens for electric vehicle projects

The Government has enabled this Wednesday, August 16, the window for the second line of the second call for the Strategic Project for the Recovery and Economic Transformation of the Electric and Connected Vehicle (Perte VEC II), through which projects can be presented to qualify for financing until September 15.

The window has some 559 million euros, of which the maximum total amount called will be 344.42 million euros in the form of a grant and 215.24 million in the form of loans that will be repayable at an interest rate of 2.88 % and with a total repayment term of 10 years with a 3-year grace period.

As in the first line of the Perte VEC II related to the production of batteries, presented at the beginning of July, the resolution of projects will be carried out by a simple competition system, that is, by order of arrival. On this occasion there is also the possibility of presenting individual projects instead of around a driving project.

The second line is intended to support investments linked to the industrial value chain of the electric and connected vehicle, as well as its systems, subsystems and components, in addition to some necessary auxiliary infrastructure systems, as published in the Official State Gazette. (BOE).

The first line has received 837 million euros, 550 million in grants and 287 million in concessions in the form of loans. Between the two lines, the budget reaches a total of 1,409 million euros.

The Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Héctor Gómez, announced the third call at the end of June, which will have some 1,450 million euros, 1,200 million in loans and some 250 million in grants.
