Jorge Lorenzo expands his collection of sports cars with the most expensive SUV on the market

Everyone knows that MotoGP rider Jorge Lorenzo is a motor lover. He loves the speed, the roar of the engine and the smell of gasoline. And not only on two-wheeled mounts but also behind the wheel of impressive sports cars. Any car fan would envy the garage of the award-winning sportsman, who about two years ago acquired one of the few copies that make up the very limited special edition Lamborghini Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster.

Well, now it has added another brand new vehicle from the same brand but in SUV format to its collection. We are referring to the Urus S, the most powerful and radical version of the range, whose starting price is around 300,000 euros, not counting the extras that may be added.

This rate makes it the most expensive model in the segment currently on the market. Even the Bentley Bentayga or the Aston Martin DBX are considerably cheaper, although they are still only available to creditworthy checking accounts.

Lorenzo has traveled to Italy this week to personally pick up his car, which he describes as versatile because it has everything: performance, technology, comfort and safety. "I wanted an authentic sports car, but also something discreet", explains the pilot, a great lover of the models of the prestigious bull brand.

Although a car like the Urus S hardly goes unnoticed by itself, the sportsman has chosen it in a discreet exterior colour: Nero Helene black. The main tone of the cabin is Nero Ade; Giallo Taurus yellow stitching on the steering wheel and on the seat belts enlivens the interior. "I think it's a very elegant specification, in very good taste," says the pilot, who was surprised when his copy was delivered to the factory itself.

The company's “La Prima” program offers the possibility of picking up the Lamborghini at the factory itself, in Sant'Agata Bolognese. The itinerary, which is tailored to the wishes of each client, includes a VIP guided tour of the production facilities. In his case, Lorenzo wanted to see the expanded carbon fiber facilities, the production lines for both the Urus and the recently presented Revuelto; and the renovated Lamborghini Museum. "It's amazing to see how much has changed since my last visit," says the athlete.

The driver not only loves to drive the latest generation cars but is also a big fan of the classics: "The Miura has never gone out of style, and I also love the Murciélago and the Diablo. The truth is that each Lamborghini has something special" . Like the Urus S, which has just been released. This is the most radical version, powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 gasoline block and 666 hp. The performance of this SUV is breathtaking: although it weighs more than two tons and is over five meters long, it can reach 305 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds.

The car's character becomes progressively sportier depending on which of the six driving modes has been selected. The system modifies the settings of the powertrain, gearbox, rear differential, suspension, steering and the 48-volt active anti-roll system. Power is sent to all four wheels via a variable all-wheel drive system that incorporates an active center differential and rear differential, giving the Urus S torque vectoring through the rear axle for outstanding drivability.
