A man who called the police to report that a car was going the wrong way in Nebraska (USA) has ended up in custody, as he was the one who was going in the wrong direction, according to the video published by the Lancaster County office in its X account (formerly Twitter).

By stopping this man, the agents were able to verify that he was driving the vehicle drunk and ended up arresting him for reckless driving.

The incident occurred last March, although the Lancaster County police did not make the incident public until this August, with the aim of raising awareness among other drivers.

According to video posted on social networks, the driver was traveling in the opposite direction on Highway 77, heading north. He called the 911 emergency telephone number saying that a car was traveling in the opposite direction.

The operator asks him if he was able to identify the model of the vehicle, the color or what type of car it is (large, small or SUV). He was unable to answer any of those questions and merely said that the car was heading towards him, encroaching on the median.

As the conversation progressed, the emergency operator detected that something was wrong and that it could be he who was driving in the opposite direction. Suspecting, they sent a patrol, which ended up locating him.

When they arrived, he was given a breathalyzer test and the results revealed that he had more than double the legal blood alcohol limit. The man was eventually arrested and charged with reckless driving.
