Dust Games, a studio created by TecnoCampus students, participates in the GameBCN program

Dust Games, a video game development studio made up of TecnoCampus students, has been chosen to participate in the GameBCN incubation program. Dust Games will thus be able to develop its video game Roombattle, a "party fighting game" that offers an exciting and fun experience.

The project presented by Dust Games has been one of the six chosen among 174 candidates from 40 countries in the ninth edition of the GameBCN program.

Dust Games has presented its video game Roombattle, which offers original gameplay, where players control robotic vacuum cleaners equipped with sharp objects and balloons, with the goal of being the last one left with balloons in the game. In addition to battles, the game offers a wide range of mini-games for a complete gaming experience.

The studio is made up of current students and alumni of TecnoCampus, including Carlos Martínez and Arnau Reig, students of the double degree in Computer Science and Video Games, as well as Oscar Villalobos and Daniel de Salabert, graduates in Video Game Design and Production. Marina Codony and Cora Real, students from the same program, as well as other collaborators, also participated.

The video game Roombattle, explains Carlos Martínez, began as one of the end-of-year projects for the video game degree at TecnoCampus. “We had to form groups to develop these games, and then we wanted to continue working on them,” explains Martínez about the origin of Dust Games. Before entering GameBCN they were already chosen to participate in the Level Up pre-incubation program, in addition to having received support in the TecnoCampus incubator.

With its entry into GameBCN, Dust Games aims to consolidate itself as an indie video game studio in Barcelona. Through this program, the studio will have the opportunity to obtain financing and develop new phases of its video game. In addition, they will be able to show their work at international events such as Gamescom, one of the most relevant fairs in the video game industry worldwide, which will be held in August. This offers a unique platform for your promotion and growth in the video game market.

With this opportunity, TecnoCampus students involved in Dust Games demonstrate the potential and capacity of the TecnoCampus academic program in training competent and innovative professionals in the field of video game development. According to Martínez, studying the video game degree at this center has given them “great versatility.” “In the degree everyone does everything, and this is how we have been able to form a multidisciplinary team,” he adds.
