What happened to Rosario Porto's inheritance, the detail that is not told in 'The Asunta case'

Almost a week ago, Netflix premiered The Asunta Case on its platform, a project that has rescued from oblivion the terrible crime that ended the life of Asunta Basterra Porto, a 12-year-old girl who lived with her parents in Santiago de Compostela.

After a long investigation and a tedious judicial procedure, the Justice found the girl's parents (Alfonso Basterra and Rosario Porto) guilty of murder and sentenced them to 18 years in prison.

It should be noted that none of the accused acknowledged responsibility for the crime and that, despite the endless evidence that directly incriminated them, they defended their innocence until the last moment.

As can be seen in the series starring Tristán Ulloa, Candela Peña and María León, among others, Porto was a complicated woman full of contradictions. The Galician lawyer also had different mental health problems, which is why she had to take daily medication.

In 2020, after several failed attempts, Rosario Porto committed suicide in the prison cell where she was serving her sentence. Her death shocked society, as many questioned whether she truly had mental health problems.

In addition to the crime she committed in 2013, the media picked up the news of Porto's death because she belonged to a prominent family of Galician lawyers, which had a large heritage.

Content creator Abel Planelles has published a video on social networks in which he explains to his followers what really happened to the woman's inheritance, which was valued at more than three million euros and was made up of properties, works of art , etc.

Since her parents had died and her daughter had been murdered, Porto left her inheritance to her lawyers and her best friend. The legal workers did not want to accept it for moral reasons, but her friend did accept it. This woman sold all the properties except for the house where the little girl's life was supposedly ended. It should be noted that said property has a value of 800,000 euros.

The series has become an audiovisual phenomenon, both inside and outside our borders. Critics, experts and viewers have come together to highlight above all and everyone the incredible performance of actress Candela Peña, who worked for months to get into Porto's skin.

In the various promotional interviews she has given, Peña has acknowledged that playing the Galician has been, by far, the most complicated job of her career, just as she has confessed that it was a very hard shoot and that the first time she saw herself in character I couldn't stop vomiting.
