Vodafone Spain remodels its management after the arrival of the new CEO

Vodafone Spain has undertaken a reorganization of its executive committee to replace the departure for personal reasons of its Strategy Director, Federico Colom, who took office in June, and to appoint a new head of consumer affairs.

The changes come six months after the former head of the company in Portugal, Mário Vaz, assumed the position of CEO in Spain in March, replacing Colman Deegan, replaced after the company's poor results.

Colom's position will be amortized and there will be a incorporation to the executive committee, which reports directly to the CEO. The goal is to "maintain the ambition to transform the consumer business and accelerate the strategy back to growth and profitability," the company says.

Ignacio Román will be the new head of the consumer unit for private clients as of October 1, replacing Hisham Hendi, whose assignment in this role is coming to an end, the company indicates.

Hisham will support Román to make the transition during the month of October and will subsequently assume new roles within Vodafone. The new Consumer Director has more than 30 years of experience in management, marketing and sales positions in the telecommunications and technology sector. He has worked on Cable

"With the incorporation of Ignacio Román, we seek to continue promoting competitiveness and accelerate the implementation of the company's future growth plans," says the CEO of Vodafone Spain.

Federico Colom has communicated his decision to leave the position of Director of Strategy and Transformation "immediately for strictly personal reasons," the company states. "Vodafone understands and respects the reasons for his decision and wishes him the best for the future."

The areas that were part of Colom's scope of responsibility, which are Strategy, Wholesale and Agreements with Third Parties, and Corporate Communication, will report directly to the CEO.
