Twenty facilities located in Barcelona's Montjuïc park will offer more than 60 cultural and leisure activities for all citizens in the second edition of "Viu Montjuïc, the Parc de la Cultura", which will take place next weekend 8 and October 9.
The initiative was born last year from the desire to coordinate the cultural operators of Montjuïc with the aim of strengthening relations between them and improving the park.
The first edition of Viu Montjuïc was held in October 2021, with the aim of becoming an annual event, and was a resounding success with the public, with the attendance of 37,000 people.
The activities will combine guided tours of the park with open days and guided tours of the exhibitions, as well as music, dance and theater performances.
In this second edition, the main novelty with respect to the first is the incorporation of a restaurant and music area in the Joan Brossa gardens, in charge of the Poble Sec restorers who are part of the Menja't Montjuïc association, and artists local.
In addition to the 22 co-organizing facilities of the initial project, other cultural entities from the neighborhoods adjacent to the park are fully incorporated that are part of the Community Culture Board of Poble Sec and the Culture and Memory Axis of the Navy, as well as the Superior Jam Session Music Center in the Font de la Guatlla neighborhood.
The initiative is co-organized and financed by the same facilities, by the Sants-Montjuïc District, the Barcelona Institute of Culture and the Directorate of Tourism and Creative Industries, which through the tourist tax promotes initiatives such as this one to improve leisure and enjoy of a quality green and cultural public space aimed especially at the residents of Barcelona.
