The monument in homage to October 1 in Torregrossa (Pla d'Urgell) has suffered a vandal attack. The three piles that form it have appeared this morning with shattered windows and with a paper containing a message: The separata teachers are nacis. You only teach hate to children. Everyone's country is Spain."
The Torregrosssa City Council has published a message on its social networks to "absolutely" condemn the events, as well as any act that "attacks the spaces, furniture and residents of the municipality."
The ERC spokesperson and native of the town, Marta Vilalta, has also published a tweet condemning the act. “Absolutely reprehensible and regrettable”, she has written herself.
"Despite many attacks, we will continue to be obstinate and committed to the defense of the Catalan Republic of rights and freedoms for the whole world," added Vilalta.
