Valencia reopens the ponds and fountains of the Parc Central after the infection

The ponds and fountains of the Parc Central de València will reopen this Tuesday after being closed for a few days after registering seven cases of infection with a microorganism that causes cryptosporidium, in children between 2 and 9 years of age. This infection, detected in minors, forced the emptying of the sheets of water and fountains throughout the garden on July 20.

Sources from the City Council explained this Monday that the analyzes of the cryptosporidium protozoan in the water from the Parc Central cistern have been negative and starting tomorrow the water areas of the park will be filled after the maintenance tasks are completed this afternoon.

In fact, the reopening of ponds and fountains in the park has been announced on Tuesday's municipal agenda with the presence of councilors Juan Carlos Caballero and Carlos Mundina.

It was precisely Mundina who explained after the infection of seven children that "the improper use of these spaces is totally prohibited", neither by people, both adults and minors, nor by pets, especially dogs, since They are transmitters of the disease.
