two seconds without a kiss

On April 13, 2013, a Thai couple kissed on the mouth for 58 hours, 35 minutes and 58 seconds. They intrigue those two seconds until completing the 36th minute that they could not bear to continue kissing.

In the kisses that one cuts ahead of time is the beginning of the end. Because in passionate kisses or love kisses you don't think of anything other than dancing without stepping on the other. You close your eyes, you don't think, you kiss and that's it. But it is impossible not to think about anything, to keep your eyes closed, to dance without moving for 58 hours, 35 minutes and 58 seconds.

In the kisses that one lengthens or that endures is the end of the beginning. There is that terrifying moment of the diver who runs into the shark that is opening his eyes and verifying that the other already has them open. And it is that kisses do not deceive. If they kiss you badly, that is going badly, it is going badly, it will go badly. If they kiss you well, it is not certain that the relationship suits you either, but at least it is intuition that points you to the fall into the abyss and then, already in disaster, you can always plead intuition as a defense to article 20 of the Penal Code.

Surely when the Thai couple stopped kissing and saw that they had a couple of seconds left of the kiss for another minute to fall, they wondered what had happened to them. But if they did, they knew full well the answer: we had it, Jim, but we don't have it anymore.

What did they do after taking off, after those 58 hours, 35 minutes and 58 seconds. Did they return to their life as a couple as if they hadn't been sewn up in each other's mouths for more than two days? I want to think that, after the kiss of weariness, exhaustion, who knows if tenderness, they shunned, terrified with the mere idea that the other wanted to recover those two seconds of kiss that they did not give each other. Those two seconds that they were told that theirs was only a record.
