Two individuals wanted for attempted murder in Holland are arrested in Santa Susanna

Mossos d'Esquadra of the Active Fugitive Investigation Group (GRAF) of the General Criminal Investigation Commission have detained two men, aged 35 and 31, who had two active European Warrants in a hotel in Santa Susanna (Maresme). Detention and Surrender (OEDE) issued by the police authorities of the Netherlands for the alleged crimes of attempted murder, serious assault and possession of weapons and ammunition.

The Dutch police investigation began following events that occurred on April 14 in the city of Brunssum (Netherlands), where a shooting took place in the early hours of the morning in which one person was seriously injured. The investigators concluded that the perpetrators of the events were three men, two of whom had fled the country and took refuge on the Maresme coast.

Given that the two main people investigated in the shooting were not in the country, two European Arrest and Surrender Orders (OEDE) were issued and within the framework of coordination and collaboration with the Mossos d'Esquadra, the location and arrest of both fugitives considered very dangerous and violent.

Members of the Active Fugitive Investigation Group, with the support of other investigative units of the Corps, led a large police force that allowed them to be located in a hotel in the town of Santa Susanna (Maresme). Once located, the agents maintained surveillance while waiting to coordinate the police operation with the Netherlands police to carry out the simultaneous arrest of the three investigated since they had also identified and located in their territory the third person involved in the shooting. .

During the morning of Friday, April 19, the Special Intervention Group (GEI) took charge of the arrest since they were dangerous and violent people and the police operation had to be carried out guaranteeing maximum security measures. The arrests were made quickly, safely, without incident or impact on the operation of the hotel.

Both men were placed at the disposal of the Central Court of Instruction no. 4 of the National Court (Madrid) that decreed provisional detention pending his extradition to the Netherlands during the next week. The Dutch police keep the investigation open to clarify the facts.
