The Notthingham police have arrested a man on suspicion of the murder of three people who were found dead in the center of the British city, where several streets have been closed since early in the morning due to the deployment of a strong police force.

Police received the first notice at 4 a.m. Tuesday from Ilkeston Road, where two people were found dead in the street. Shortly after, a van tried to run over three people on Milton Street. Passers-by are being treated at the hospital. Also, on Magdala Road, a man was found dead.

Police, who believe the three incidents are linked, have detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of committing the three murders, police said. Police Chief Kate Meynell said the "investigation is in its early stages and a team of detectives is working to establish exactly what happened." The reason is also being investigated.

Additionally, authorities have asked the public to avoid the large cordoned off area while the police investigation continues. The police cordon has blocked six roads, preventing access to trams and some buses. "Several roads in the city will remain closed as this investigation progresses," Meynell said.

The three cases investigated occurred in very different areas of Nottingham: the hit-and-run on Milton Street, in the middle of the shopping center; the two bodies were found on Ilkeston Road (to the east); and the third deceased was found on Magdala Road (to the north).
