Three workers have been injured, one of them seriously, in an explosion that occurred this Tuesday morning at the company Tatuajes Norte-TRANORSA, located in the industrial estate of Briviesca (Burgos), and which resulted in a fire. of the facilities that are already controlled.
The explosion took place after ten in the morning for reasons that are still under investigation. José Solas, mayor of the municipality, was the one who reported the three injured, of which one of them, a 57-year-old man, is in serious condition and has been transferred by helicopter to the University Hospital of Burgos (HUBU).
Members of several provincial fire stations are working at the scene to control the fire that occurred after the explosion. In addition, Briviesca Local Police, Civil Protection, the Civil Guard and Sacyl Health Emergencies have attended to assist the victims.
The company, dedicated to the maintenance of pressure vessels and containers, and more specifically to the cleaning of butane cylinders, Solas has specified, has around twenty workers and was one of the first to settle in the Briviesca industrial estate. "It was little compared to what it could have been," the mayor acknowledged, since after the explosion all the workers were evacuated and, at this time, the Local Police confirms that "the situation is under control."
