The Valencian hospitality industry seeks the best tapa of the year

The Tapas d'Ací campaign starts in the Valencian Community, between April 26 and May 12. A new gastronomic event that will have more than 70 participating establishments from across the Valencian Community, which will seek to win the "Best Tapa in the Valencian Community 2024" award in a contest already consolidated in the calendar of gastronomic contests held in the territory.

The campaign, promoted by the Business Confederation of Hospitality and Tourism of the Valencian Community (CONHOSTUR) with the collaboration of Turisme Comunitat Valenciana, was presented at ALENAR Bodega Mediterránea this Tuesday and had the participation of the Minister of Innovation, Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Nuria Montes and the president of Hospitality Valencia and Conhostur, Manuel Espinar.

The event aims to continue promoting the culture of tapas and especially those made with local and seasonal products, taking advantage of the gastronomic wealth that exists throughout the entire Community. The proposal aims to allow local clients and tourists to discover new places, as well as creative proposals based on Valencian preparations and products. For all of them there will be a price of 5 euros, which will include the tasting of the tapa and a drink or glass of wine from the Valencian Community.

The campaign will be developed in the neighborhoods of Ciutat Vella, Quatre Carrers, Aragón, Xuquer, Algirós, Cabanyal, Patacona, Patraix, Marxalenes, Centro, Extramurs, Marítim or Ruzafa. For its part, Alicante also has participants located, in addition to the capital itself, in Denia, Villena, Benidorm, Alcoi, Guardamar del Segura, Xábia, Altea, La Vila Joiosa and Elx. And Castellón will also have participating locations in Castellón de la Plana, Onda, Sant Mateu, Pobla de Benifassà, Benicassim, Morella and Culla.

On May 6 at the CDT in Valencia, the contest will be held to choose the best tapa in the Valencian Community, to which the two best proposals from each province will arrive (after the semifinals held in Castellón, Valencia and Alicante).

The winning proposal will participate in an international gastronomic promotion action together with Michelin Star chefs that will be held next June in Warsaw. In addition, the best tapa from each province will represent the Valencian Community in the III edition of the National Tapas Contest organized by Hostelería España in Madrid Fusión.
