The house in Torregrossa (Pla d'Urgell), where part of the façade collapsed on Wednesday, completely collapsed during the early hours of the morning. The roof and the upper floor have fallen, being completely destroyed. The area is cordoned off and two neighboring properties were evacuated as a precaution.
The supermarket that was located on the ground floor of the building had closed just an hour and a half before the event, and the owners, by chance, were not present. Fortunately, there were no injuries due to the collapse, but now the technicians will have to check a second property in the same building that is still standing to determine if it meets the habitability conditions and if the owners can enter to collect their belongings.
Electrical technicians have worked to bypass the wiring to avoid power outages. Meanwhile, a demolition company is cleaning up the area to prevent more landslides.
