The high price of new cars is a new factor that invites people to use renting as a way to enjoy a vehicle. Furthermore, it is a sector that allows the implementation of alternative energies such as electric, hybrid, or models powered by gas and hydrogen to be promoted.
The rental vehicle fleet, at the end of the third quarter of 2023, rose to 892,620 units in Spain. The number of renting clients stands at 255,902, growing by 0.27% and currently has a weight in the total market of 26.5%. Compared to the same period of the previous year, 680 new clients have been added.
By segment, it has been large companies that have increased their rental fleet the most, by 9.15%. The second fastest growing segment corresponds to medium-sized companies (5 to 24 vehicles), which have increased their fleet by 8.09%. In the case of small companies (1 to 4 vehicles), the increase has been 7.65%. On the contrary, the number of individuals, self-employed workers and individuals has suffered a slight decline of 2.37%.
In this context of moderate growth, these are the ten most in-demand models during the period from January to September 2023, according to data provided by the Spanish Vehicle Rental Association.
