The Margarida Xirgu Memorial Theater Award has found who wants it. Despite having been on the verge of disappearing due to lack of support, this award, which honors the memory of the legendary actress of the 20th century born in Molins de Rei, celebrates its 48th edition, revived and strengthened.

This year, the distinguished actress is Míriam Iscla (Pineda de Mar, 1966), for her performance in the productions Crim i càstig and Les bones intentions of the Barcelona season.

This year, the Federation of Amateur Theater Groups of Catalonia (FGTAC) and the magazine Núvol have assumed the organization of the award, together with the City Council of Molins de Rei, as reported by the digital cultural magazine, "with the aim of relaunching it after of the pandemic and maintain its continuity.

The jury, made up of members of the FGTAC and critics from Núvol, highlights Iscla's versatility, "his craft and technical mastery, capable of improving any scenic proposal, contributing his unique gaze always at the service of the text and the direction proposal" . The award ceremony is open to the public with prior registration and will be held on Monday, July 25 at 7:00 p.m. at the Romea theater.
