The rain clouds return to Sagàs

The rain clouds return to Sagàs, in the Berguedà region, as a portrait in this series of photographs in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia.

In the first image we see the church of Santa Maria de la Guàrdia accompanied by distant cumulonimbus clouds. They are of great vertical development, internally formed by a column of warm and humid air that rises in the form of a rotating spiral.

Its base is usually less than 2 km high while the top can reach 11 to 12 km high. When fully developed they take on an anvil shape with the tip set back from the direction of storm travel.

These clouds often produce intense precipitation and thunderstorms, especially when they are fully developed.

In the second image we see a powerful cumulonimbus over Sagàs, seen from Puig-Reig.

The third image shows us the rapeseed field with almost no flowers, the farmhouse and at the end, the cumulonimbus cloud, halfway between Puig-Reig i Sagàs, whose main economic activity is agriculture and livestock.

In terms of geography, it is located between the ramblas of Pontarró in the northwest and the valley of the Riera de Merlès, a stream that flows into the Llobregat river in Puig-Reig.
