After Sánchez's decision, the proposal from Ferraz's executive for Ribera to lead the Socialists' group in the European elections will be incorporated this Friday into the PSOE list committee, which will draw up the opinion along with the proposals from all the parties. federations that the militants were able to vote until April 20. The proposal will be submitted for voting this Saturday to the federal committee of the PSOE, from which the final list for the European elections will be drawn up.

Ribera herself has considered it “an honor” to be proposed to head the PSOE list for the European elections, “following in the footsteps of Josep Borrell, a great example for everyone.” The former Foreign Minister and current EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy was the socialist headliner in the last European elections, in 2019, as he was also in those of 2004. “We want more Europe, more fair and supportive, more social, green and feminist,” defended the third vice president. “We know that this is the agenda that guarantees progress and well-being,” she said.
