The problem is not Rubiales

I understand those who are sick of hearing about Rubiales. To those who accuse politicians of using it as a smoke screen so as not to talk about rapists on the street or amnesty. To those who believe that the video of the bus (Jenni Hermoso laughing, after the kiss) shows that there was no abuse, no crime, and there is no more to talk about. I understand them, but I think there's something they don't see. And it is the most important thing.

"What (ex) boss are you remembering today?" Writer Marta Jiménez Serrano asked on Twitter, and received an avalanche of responses. I myself remembered one who called us, the editors, "my harem", and another (whom his subordinates knew was never to be left alone with a certain secretary, to whom he insisted on offering to "build a flat"), that said: “Women are only good for fucking, and not all of them!”. Those of us present smiled politely (perhaps we would have laughed out loud if we had just won a World Cup), but that contempt was sinking in. In the end, many of us, if we could, would leave: we preferred to take a professional step back and not suffer further humiliation. If you want more examples, read Gemma Herrero on JotDown: How were we going to explain the situation of the soccer players if in the newsrooms we are surrounded by "Rubiales"? Or remember that those of Rayo Vallecano had to put up with a coach who, when he trained men, encouraged them to commit a group rape, because "that's what really unites a team."

I believe that a forced kiss is abuse, and that this abuse humiliates us all, whatever the abused person does (I would understand if she didn't report it: it would be an ordeal for her), and whatever self-serving use some of the matter might make. I don't know if there was a crime, but is it that only criminals are fired? The ostentation of machismo and arrogance are not enough?

The important thing is that this unfortunate matter is bringing to light countless situations that women endure in silence. It would be about time you guys didn't let them pass. That you would support us, instead of laughing thanks to the abusers, scolding us if we get angry (“it's a joke!”) or looking the other way. And if the subject bores you, you hold on.
